Apache Solr 8.8.0

It is a pleasure to inform you that the new version of the Solr search server has been released. It is the next release from the 8.x branch and it is numbered 8.8.0.

Some of the changes included in the Solr 8.8.0:

  • Config set upload was added to API v2
  • Leader election time has been reduced when SolrCloud nodes are shut down
  • The timeAllowed and cursorMark parameters can now work together
  • Reduced the overseer bottlenecks by using per-replica collection states

You can read the list of changes at: https://lucene.apache.org/solr/8_8_0/changes/Changes.html.

It is worth noting that the streaming expressions got some nice visualizations in the official Solr documentation. Check that out!
