It is another release from the 6.x branch and it is numbered <strong>6.2<\/strong>. Release fixes a few bugs found in the earlier version of Lucene and Solr and brings a few new functionalities.<\/p>\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<p>Example changes in the Lucene library:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>MMapDirectory<\/em> no longer uses weak references,<\/li>\n<li><em>QueryParser<\/em> can be informed not to split on whitespace characters,<\/li>\n<li>Index sorting is now a core Lucene functionality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Example changes in Solr search engine:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>DocValues<\/em> data structure can now work with <em>BoolFields,<\/em><\/li>\n<li>The <em>\/export<\/em> request handler supports <em>Date<\/em> and <em>Boolean <\/em>fields,<\/li>\n<li>Cross data center replication can now copy the whole index if information in transaction log is not sufficient for replication,<\/li>\n<li>Two new streaming expressions functions have been added &#8211; <em>features<\/em> and <em>train<\/em> to allow fatures extraction and regression.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Full list of changes can be found at the following URL: <a href=\"http:\/\/lucene.apache.org\/#25-august-2016-apache-lucene-620-and-apache-solr-620-available\">http:\/\/lucene.apache.org\/#25-august-2016-apache-lucene-620-and-apache-solr-620-available<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Apache Lucene library <strong>6.2<\/strong> can be downloaded from: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apache.org\/dyn\/closer.cgi\/lucene\/java\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.apache.org\/dyn\/closer.cgi\/lucene\/java\/<\/a>.
