Of course, this is another release from the 5.x branch and it is numbered <strong>5.5<\/strong>. Let&#8217;s take a look on what changes were introduced to those products.<\/p>\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<p>Some of the changes included in the Lucene library:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>JoinUtil.createJoinQuery<\/em> works with numeric doc values fields<\/li>\n<li>New similarity model was introduced &#8211; <em>DFISimilarity<\/em><\/li>\n<li>New optimizations were done in <em>BooleanQuery<\/em><\/li>\n<li>New constructors in <em>TermsQuery<\/em> are now more garbage collector friendly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some of the changes in the Solr search server:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Schema.xml version was increased to <em>1.6<\/em> and now Solr returns non stored doc values fields by default in addition to the stored fields<\/li>\n<li><em>mergePolicy<\/em> section in the <em>solrconfig.xml<\/em> file has been deprecated and replaced by <em>mergePolicyFactory<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>CheckIndex<\/em> tool works with <em>HdfsDirectory<\/em> now<\/li>\n<li>We can choose stored fields compression using <em>SchemaCodecFactory<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Collections API<\/em> now supports asynchronous calls<\/li>\n<li><em>XMLQueryParser<\/em> support<\/li>\n<li>Fast, uninverted field faceting is back for high performance on rarely changing indices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The full list of changes in Lucene library is available at&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.apache.org\/lucene-java\/ReleaseNote55\">http:\/\/wiki.apache.org\/lucene-java\/ReleaseNote55<\/a><br>\n.
