This is a next release continuing the 4th version of both Apache Lucene and Apache Solr.<\/p>\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<p>Here are some of the changes that were made comparing to the 4.1 version:<\/p>\n<h3>Lucene<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>New, default codec with default term vectors compression and more efficient DocValues format<\/li>\n<li>Refactoring and performance improvement to faceting module<\/li>\n<li>FST structure now supports data in size above 2GB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Solr<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>API for index structure allowing for <em>schema.xml<\/em> elements fetching<\/li>\n<li>DocValues support<\/li>\n<li>Collections aliasing<\/li>\n<li>Custom node names for SolrCloud deployments<\/li>\n<li>Enchantments that comes with Apache Lucene 4.2<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Full changes list for Lucene can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.apache.org\/lucene-java\/ReleaseNote42\">http:\/\/wiki.apache.org\/lucene-java\/ReleaseNote42<\/a>.
