When comparing to the <a href=\"http:\/\/solr.pl\/en\/2011\/11\/27\/apache-lucene-and-solr-3-5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3.5<\/a> there were some major changes introduced about which you can read in the rest of the post.<\/p>\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<p>Some of the changes in version <strong>3.6<\/strong> compared to 3.5:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lucene<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Full Java 7 support (from first update)<\/li>\n<li>New phonetic encoders were added<\/li>\n<li><em>CJKBigramFilter<\/em> and <em>CJKWidthFilter<\/em> replace the <em>CJKTokenizer<\/em><\/li>\n<li>QueryParser will now interpret &#8216;*&#8217; character as open and in range queries<\/li>\n<li><em>CheckIndex<\/em> and <em>IndexUpgrader<\/em> lets you specify <em>Directory<\/em> implementation<\/li>\n<li><em>FieldValueFilter<\/em> was added, which allows to filter documents that doesn&#8217;t have defined fields<\/li>\n<li>New query time <em>join<\/em> was added (less performant than index time joins)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Solr<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>New SolrJ client was added (based on Apache HTTP Components)<\/li>\n<li>Range faceting for dates and number supports distributed search<\/li>\n<li><em>HTMLStripCharFilter<\/em> was implemented from scrach which result in increased performance<\/li>\n<li><em>StreamingUpdateSolrServer<\/em> supports <em>Javabin<\/em> format now<\/li>\n<li>New cache type was added &#8211; <em>LFUCache<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The full list of changes in Apache Lucene <strong>3.6<\/strong> is available at the following URL address: <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.apache.org\/lucene-java\/ReleaseNote36\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/wiki.apache.org\/lucene-java\/ReleaseNote36<\/a>.
