In the newest version there are a few functionalities worth looking at.<\/p>\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<p>Changes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Lucene\n<ul>\n<li>Fixes a bug that could lead to index corruption in case of hardware failure<\/li>\n<li>Added faceting module (<em>contrib\/facet<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Added join module that enables to index and query for nested documents (<em>contrib\/join<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Added multi-word synonym filter that can be used while indexing and searching<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Solr\n<ul>\n<li>When using results grouping, <em>faceting<\/em>can now be applied per group<\/li>\n<li>You can now use <em>NIOFSDirectory<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>queryCache<\/em> and <em>filterCache<\/em> can be now disabled per request<\/li>\n<li><em>SynonymFilter<\/em> performance and memory usage was improved<\/li>\n<li>Using <em>hl.phraseLimit<\/em> improves <em>FastVectorHighlighting<\/em> performance<\/li>\n<li>Bug fixes and improvements from Lucene 3.4<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The full list of changes in <strong>Lucene 3.4<\/strong> can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.apache.org\/lucene-java\/ReleaseNote34\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>. <strong>Solr 3.4<\/strong> change list can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.apache.org\/solr\/ReleaseNote34\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The newest version of<strong> Lucene<\/strong> <strong><\/strong>library can be found at the following address: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apache.org\/dyn\/closer.cgi\/lucene\/java\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.apache.org\/dyn\/closer.cgi\/lucene\/java\/<\/a>.
