It is the next release from the 8.x branch and it is numbered <strong>8.5.0<\/strong>. This release introduces fixes for the bugs found in the previous versions along with new features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the changes that are introduced to Lucene library include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Added <em>LatLonShape<\/em> and <em>XYShape<\/em> to point and distance queries<\/li><li>Added <em>maxQueryLength<\/em> option to <em>DirectSpellchecker<\/em><\/li><li>WhitespaceAnalyzer is now allowed to set a <em>maxTokenLength<\/em> other than the default of <em>255<\/em><\/li><li><em>QueryBuilder<\/em> can now use <em>BoostAttributes<\/em> to boost particular terms or synonyms in parsed queries<\/li><li>Reduced <em>AutomatonTermsEnum<\/em> memory usage<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the changes that were introduced to Solr include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>New <em>postlog<\/em> command-line tool for indexing Solr logs has been introduced<\/li><li>Introduced <em>uniqueJoin<\/em> aggregation<\/li><li>Synonyms can now be individually boosted<\/li><li>20 resource leak warnings in SolrJ have been eliminated<\/li><li>Filter in Boolean query parser in Query DSL is are now cached by default<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The full list of changes in the Apache Lucene library is available at <a href=\"https:\/\/cwiki.apache.org\/confluence\/display\/LUCENE\/ReleaseNote85\">https:\/\/cwiki.apache.org\/confluence\/display\/LUCENE\/ReleaseNote85<\/a>, full list of changes in the Solr search engine is available at <a href=\"https:\/\/cwiki.apache.org\/confluence\/display\/SOLR\/ReleaseNote85\">https:\/\/cwiki.apache.org\/confluence\/display\/SOLR\/ReleaseNote85<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apache Lucene library<strong> 8.5.0<\/strong>&nbsp;can be downloaded from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.apache.org\/dyn\/closer.cgi\/lucene\/java\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.apache.org\/dyn\/closer.cgi\/lucene\/java<\/a>.
