The content is divided into ten thematic chapters, each of which consists of a few to several subsections. The book is maintained in the convention cookbook which means that it is not a guide from A to Z about Solr &#8211; it is a ready-made solutions to some of the problems that can be encountered while working with Solr.<\/p>\n<p>The book will include topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Indexing the data in different formats and forms<\/li>\n<li>Using and understanding the administration panel<\/li>\n<li>Different techniques of data grouping<\/li>\n<li>Solr performance lifting techniques<\/li>\n<li>Creation of your own Solr modules<\/li>\n<li>Indexing the data using the Data Import Handler<\/li>\n<li>The use of phrases, sorting and spatial searching<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are interested, please refer to the Packt Publishing page: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.packtpub.com\/solr-3-1-enterprise-search-server-cookbook\/book\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.packtpub.com\/solr-3-1-enterprise-search-server-cookbook\/book<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Errata<\/h2>\n<p>We would look to ensure that the reception of the book should be as good as possible and because we have found some mistakes in the book we decided to write a little errata. We sincerely apologize for all the error and mistakes.<\/p>\n<h3>Page 20<\/h3>\n<p>If You use Solr newer than 3.1 you can run into problems when using the <em>threshold<\/em> option in the <em>solrconfig.xml<\/em> file. To avoid it please change the following:<\/p>\n<p><em>&lt;str name=&#8221;threshold&#8221;&gt;2&lt;\/str&gt;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>for:<\/p>\n<p><em>&lt;float name=&#8221;threshold&#8221;&gt;2&lt;\/float&gt;<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Pages 28 &#8211; 29<\/h3>\n<h4>Double $ characters<\/h4>\n<p>In examples on pages 28 &#8211; 29 there are some additional $ characters added. For example:<\/p>\n<p><em>$$NUTCH_HOME\/crawl\/nutch\/<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Please ignore the additional $ character.<\/p>\n<h4>File name and directory mistake<\/h4>\n<p>On page 28 the following sentence is printed:<\/p>\n<p><em>Now add the file named nutch to the directory $$NUTCH_HOME\/crawl\/nutch\/site.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This sentence should be as follows:<\/p>\n<p><em>Now add the file named <strong>site<\/strong> to the directory <strong>$NUTCH_HOME\/crawl\/nutch\/<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Page 32<\/h3>\n<p>Page 32 of the book contain additional sentence which should be there: &#8220;<em>There is one more thing before you can run the IndexSorter tool<\/em>&#8220;.
