<p>Changes:</p>
<ol>
<li>Lucene
<ul>
<li>A new grouping module (available under <em>lucene</em>/contrib/grouping)</li>
<li>A IndexUpgrader tool that let&#8217;s you upgrade your index to the new format</li>
<li>NRTCachingDirectory implementation which caches small segments in RAM</li>
<li>A new Collector implementation, CachingCollector, which helps developing functionalities which requires more than one pass</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Solr
<ul>
<li>Ability to specify <em>overwrite</em> and <em>commitWithin </em>as request parameters when using the JSON update format</li>
<li>Improvements to UIMA integration and Carrot2 library integration</li>
<li>Performance improvements of highlighting functionality</li>
<li>Jar file containing test-framework</li>
<li>Improvements from Apache Lucene 3.2</li>
